Cassandra Williams has certification from the Neurosequential Network by Dr. Bruce Perry in the Neurosequential Method of Therapeutics (NMT). NMT is a developmentally informed, biologically respectful approach to working with at-risk individuals, specifically children. NMT offers a set of assessment tools that organize history and assess current brain functioning. Recommended specifically for at-risk children to provide an in-depth understanding to caregivers and treatment team members of a child's/adolescents needs.
"Many adult survivors of childhood trauma are seeking out these metrics to increase understanding of how their own brain functions and to inform those around them." - Cassandra
Why NMT?
"In order to remain on the cutting edge of empirical trauma treatments it was priority of mine to align with leading researchers in the file of trauma and attachment, like Dr. Bruce Perry, in order to ensure the comprehensive understanding of trauma treatment for Bonding and Behavior. The Brainmaps or Metric Reports that come with this training are an additional tool." - Cassandra
Who typically requests a metric report?
Clients, Caregivers, Caseworkers/GALS and other relevant treatment team members.
How are they useful?
The lengthy report provides in-depth explanations of the inter-workings of the brain based on the data collected and provides implications, driven by the data, to support in continued healing. This can be provided to schools, other therapies, extracurriculars etc., in addition to being used to guide in understanding the way someone has been influenced by their childhood trauma.
How are these funded?
This assessment is not covered by insurance; the out of pocket cost is $500.00 per metric (this includes intake session, information gathering, report generation and follow up).
