A Message from Betsy
"From this place in my life, I can tell you it is a journey. There are few straight
paths, there are plenty of turns in the road, and obstacles to overcome.
My path has brought me to this work.
My goal is to walk alongside as your path twists and turns, and we can explore together how you arrived at this place in your own your journey from
wherever you have come from to wherever you may go. The way forward is
found here in the present. "
Betsy came to Bonding and Behavior after a long and fulfilling career in education; working with ages from preschool through adult learning.
Betsy holds a Bachelors and Masters of Arts in Communication. She returned to Colorado State University to complete her Master’s of Social Work with a certificate in Advanced Behavioral Health, and has been practicing with Bonding and Behavior since 2023 in order to specialize in trauma treatment.
In addition to a Betsy's specialized training in trauma treatment, she is also a certified and experienced Nature and Forest Therapy Guide. As an advocate for the power of nature, she extends her work from Greeley, Colorado into the greater Northern Colorado area.
Betsy has received expert training in Narcissistic Abuse Recovery with leaders in the field including Dr. Ramani Durvasula. She has a developed a unique skillset for destabilizing harmful systems of power and control for individuals through understanding complex relationships
Betsy’s personal and professional journey has led her to a desire to provide trauma therapy with a focus on healing and empowerment through accessing the mind-body connection.
Betsy works with a wide variety of presenting issues including grief, narcissistic abuse, depression, anxiety, PTSD/cPTSD.
Betsy also provides support for those facing transitions such as changes in family life, loss, health, and retirement.
Betsy uses a variety of approaches in her trauma therapy practice including forest therapy, mindfulness, somatic strategies, and self-compassion.
